Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a part-time Nurse Clinician for Dermatology at Lincoln Park, days, on-site. The role supports a multidisciplinary team, performing nursing assessments by phone or in person and coordinating patient education to promote high-quality care.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe environment, performing routine nursing duties, triaging calls, and collaborating with physicians and staff to deliver excellent patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Registered Professional Nurse licensure in the State of Illinois.
• Certification in Basic CPR.
• Current experience within past five years or new nursing graduate within past two years. If less than six months experience, approval required from NMG Director of Professional Development.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment; ensure OSHA compliance.
• Provide pre-attending care with comprehensive assessments and document findings.
• Perform routine nursing duties including phlebotomy, medication administration, vital signs, and related tasks; handle complex procedures as needed.
• Interpret and define abnormalities in tests and take remedial action; document interventions.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Triage and prioritize telephone calls using clinical assessment skills.
• Manage urgent/emergent medical situations per protocols.
• Serve as a resource for staff; delegate tasks to LPNs and Medical Assistants.
• Comply with policies; initiate patient education and care improvements.
