Job summary

Lamar University seeks qualified candidates to teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels in Deaf Studies and Deaf Education programs. This is a part-time, pooled position that will be filled as needed. Candidates should hold a graduate degree in a relevant discipline and demonstrate fluency in American Sign Language.

The role involves teaching courses, maintaining accurate records, and effectively communicating with students and faculty.

Knowledge of the Deaf community is essential, along with strong interpersonal skills and innovative teaching strategies.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Deaf Education, ASL, Deaf Studies, or a related field required.
• Knowledge and experience in training students in Deaf Education or related fields.
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses using current pedagogical methods and maintain student records.
• Communicate effectively with students, department chairs, and university personnel.
