Job summary

Sierra Medical Center in Reno, NV seeks a part‑time Day Surgery RN to provide direct and indirect patient care in the Day Surgery Unit and Preoperative Holding Area. The RN will collaborate with physicians, the Nurse Manager, and staff to monitor patient condition changes and support discharge planning.

Responsibilities include head‑to‑toe assessments, effective pain management education for patients and families, and the development of a care plan that respects patient dignity and cultural

Qualifications

• Current Nevada RN licensure required.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Perform head‑to‑toe patient assessments and conduct reassessments.
• Assess and manage pain, educate patients and families on pain management.
• Establish and implement a plan of care as ordered.
• Treat patients with respect and address diverse psychosocial needs.
• Serve as liaison between administration, patients, physicians and staff.
• Collaborate with care team to include patients in discharge planning.
