Job summary

Smart & Final in Bakersfield is seeking a Part-Time Associate at 326 Bakersfield to deliver friendly customer service, manage stocking, operate a cash register, and support store operations on a fast-paced team.

Starting pay is $16.90 per hour with opportunities to grow; duties include receiving inventory, pricing accuracy, helping customers to their vehicles, and maintaining sanitation and cleanliness in the store.

Qualifications

• Read and write English, interact with general public and co-workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information to customers and coworkers.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a store section as assigned and stock merchandise with proper pricing and date checks.
• Clean and maintain sanitation standards in store and parking areas.
• Operate a cash register and handle payments and refunds as directed by management.
• Provide friendly, knowledgeable assistance to customers and help with loading purchases when needed.
• Record inventory and store supplies, and track lost/damaged goods.
