Job summary

Mom’s Meals is seeking upbeat, customer-focused individuals for a part-time Customer Service Representative role in Des Moines, IA. You will be the first friendly voice when customers place meal orders, handling questions and inputting orders while maintaining accurate client records.

The position requires 2 weeks of full-time onsite training and offers a starting wage of $17.00/hour. Standard hours are Mon–Fri, with shifts totaling 20–29 hours per week, onsite at 7000 Fleur Drive.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency; able to use standard software in work/school setting.
• Clear oral communication skills.
• Ability to deescalate situations and resolve issues.
• Experience adhering to company policies and values.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound and outbound customer service calls for meal orders.
• Provide exceptional customer service and answer questions.
• Input order information into client order system.
• Document conversations in the client database.
• Ensure clients are contacted and have an order on file.
• Contact case managers for special situations via phone, email, or fax.

Job description

Mom’s Meals, the leading national provider of refrigerated home-delivered meals in the healthcare market, is looking for upbeat, people-first individuals to join our team as Part-time Customer Service Representatives. In this role, you’ll be one of the first friendly voices our customers connect with as they place meal orders. The starting wage is $17.00/hour.

Standard work hours are Monday-Friday, 10:30am-2:30pm OR 1:30pm-5:30pm (20-29 hours/week).

This position requires 2 weeks of full-time onsite training, Monday-Friday from 9:00am-6:00pm.

This is an onsite position at 7000 Fleur Drive, Des Moines IA 50321 and will start on Monday, November 9th.

Offer of employment is contingent upon successfully passing a pre-employment drug screen and background check, where permitted by law.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to

• Handle inbound and outbound customer service calls with our clients placing their meal order
• Address questions, and provide exceptional customer service
• Input order information into the appropriate client order screen
• Document all conversations with client into client information database
• Ensure all assigned clients are contacted and have an order on file
• Contact case managers via telephone, email, and/or fax when a special situation arises regarding one of their clients
• Work quickly and efficiently without making the client feel rushed

Required Skills & Experience

• High school degree or GED
• 1 year of previous customer service experience
• Basic computer proficiency, including experience learning and using software in a work or school setting
• Clear oral communication skills
• Ability to deescalate situations and quickly resolve customer complaints
• Prior experience adhering to company policies and showing core values

Preferred Skills & Experience

• 1 year of previous call center experience
• Previous experience with auto dialer, multi-line phone system, and/or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams
• Previous experience working with HIPAA policies and procedures

Physical Requirements

• Repetitive motions that include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
• Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting, remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods
• Visual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
