Job summary

Dollar Tree in El Monte, CA is seeking a part-time Customer Service Associate to deliver a great shopping experience. You will assist customers with questions, process transactions at the register, keep the store stocked, and maintain a clean, safe environment.

This role requires strong interpersonal skills, reliability, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods. Previous retail or service experience is preferred, and employment is on-site at our Valley Blvd location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment in accordance with productivity standards.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep the store clean and presentable, including bathrooms and floors.
