Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking a Customer Service Associate to deliver a great shopping experience. You will assist customers, handle cash transactions, stock shelves, unload trucks, and maintain store cleanliness.

The role requires strong customer service and communication skills, physical ability to lift 30–50 lbs., and the flexibility to perform various duties across the store. Part-time position based in Van, WV, with employee benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. and handle frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions while operating the assigned cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks and stock replenishment.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, and waste disposal.
• Other duties as assigned.
