Job summary

New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, NM is seeking a Part-Time Temporary AM Custodian to maintain a clean and sterile environment in assigned areas. Responsibilities include cleaning, trash removal, restrooms, mopping, and on-call emergency cleanups.

Candidate must be able to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency calls; must speak and write English. Pay rate is $15.00 per hour. Apply with resume and letter of recommendation.

Responsibilities

• Vacuuming, sweeping, and emptying trash receptacles; cleans fixtures, blinds, pictures, shelves, drapes and ashtrays; wash windows, restrooms and kitchenettes, employee lounges, porches, entryways, walls, doors, and windows as needed.
• Move furniture; refills toilet supplies in restrooms and hand sanitizer units as needed; shampoo carpets, strips and waxes floors, as required.
• Shovels snow in entryways as required; mop floors on a regular basis; serves on an on-call list to assist with emergency cleanups.

Vacuuming, sweeping, and emptying trash receptacles; Cleans fixtures, blinds, pictures, shelves, drapes and ashtrays; Wash windows, restrooms and kitchenettes, employee lounges, porches, entryways, walls, doors, and windows as needed; Move furniture; Refills toilet supplies in restrooms and hand sanitizer units as needed; Shampoo carpets, strips and waxes floors, as required; Shovels snow in entryways as required; Mop floors on a regular basis; Serves on an on-call list to assist with emergency cleanups; Maintain regular attendance; Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instruction; Knowledge in properly handling hazardous chemicals and materials; Knowledge in proper cleaning techniques; Ability to use a ladder and operate cleaning equipment (burnishes, buffers, etc.); Knowledge of safety procedures; Ability to read and write effectively.
