ANSONIA SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a part-time School Custodian for the 3:00 PM–7:00 PM shift to support daily operations in Ansonia, CT. The role reports to the Director of Facilities and requires a high school diploma and reliable teamwork.

Responsibilities include cleaning, disinfecting, stocking supplies, maintaining equipment, light maintenance, and assisting with snow removal as needed. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to clearly communicate with all students, parents, staff and community.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community.
• Ability to perform duties with awareness of district requirements and Board of Education policies.
• Overtime may be required.

Responsabilités

• Responds to requests from Director of Facilities and/or school administration as needed throughout the day.
• Cleans and monitors designated spaces and equipment in the building, including sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, mopping and waxing floors; rubbish removal.
• Cleans and disinfects bathroom sinks, toilets and urinals, mirrors.
• Check hand soap, paper towel, & tissue supplies and keep stocked.
• Cleans classroom sinks/faucets.
• Replaces light bulbs as needed.
• Unlocks and locks premises, secures windows and activates/deactivates the alarm systems.
• Cleans and maintain custodial equipment daily after each use.
• Helps in unloading of freight as needed with delivery to specified areas.
• Moves classroom furniture as needed.
• Performs basic maintenance as needed.
• Performs painting work as needed.
• Assists with snow removal/de-icing as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community
• Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies
• Mandatory overtime when needed

Essential Job Responsibilties

• Responds to requests from Director of Facilities and/or school administration as needed throughout the day

Essential Physical Requirements

• Frequent walking, bending, twisting and lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs. such as cleaning supplies, pails and unloading trucks
• Continuous use of hand strength to grasp tools and cleaning equipment and climb on ladders
• Push/pull items such as tables, bleachers, and/or cleaning equipment

Compensation And Hours

$19.78 per hour 4 hours a day. No Benefits
