Job summary

Putnam Public Schools is seeking a Substitute Custodian for the 2nd shift to help maintain a safe, clean, and healthy educational environment at our schools. The role includes cleaning, sanitation, and facilitating evening lock-up, with setup duties for meetings and events.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well with others. Background checks are required, and the position will transition from regular daily

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in custodial service preferred.
• Must possess good interpersonal communication skills.
• Must have the ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Must be able to perform frequent stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Successful completion of required district background checks.

POSITION: Substitute Custodian (2nd Shift)

DESCRIPTION:

A Substitute Custodian works with school administration and district staff to maintain a safe, clean, and healthy educational environment. Responsibilities include maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of assigned school areas, assisting with evening lock-up, setting up for school meetings and events, moving furniture or equipment, and assisting with facility support as needed.

START DATE: Immediate assignment:

Regular daily placement for approximately 7 weeks, transitioning to flexible per-diem work as needed thereafter

RATE OF PAY:

$20.56 per hour
