Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 3+ years of custodial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, sanitation, and restocking of classrooms, offices, restrooms, and general facilities.
• Floor care including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, polishing, and waxing floors; wash interior/exterior windows.
• Set up and clean up for evening events or meetings; assist with deliveries and move furniture/equipment.
• Secure buildings by locking/unlocking doors, turning off lights, and activating security systems.
• Assist with seasonal snow removal, groundskeeping, light bulb replacement, and report repairs.

POSITION: 2ND SHIFT CUSTODIAN

Putnam Public Schools is seeking a dependable and dedicated 2nd Shift Custodian to join our School Facilities team. The 2nd Shift Custodian works with school administration and district staff to ensure our facilities are clean, safe, well-maintained, and secure for students, staff, and community members.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cleaning & Sanitation:Daily cleaning, sanitizing, and restocking of classrooms, offices, restrooms, and general facilities.

Floor & Surface Care:Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, polish, and wax hard surface floors, and wash interior/exterior windows.

Facility Operations & Events:Set up and clean up for evening events or meetings, assist with deliveries, and move furniture and equipment.

Building Security:Secure buildings by locking/unlocking doors, turning off lights, and activating security systems.

Maintenance & Grounds:Assist with seasonal snow removal, groundskeeping, light bulb replacement, and report necessary repairs to leadership.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:3+ years of custodial experience preferred.

Physical Demands:Ability to perform frequent stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 40 lbs
