Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking an Assistant Culinary Instructor to support the Culinary Training Academy. You will assist in teaching culinary students, supervise kitchen operations during shifts, and help manage records and inventory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; culinary program certification or 3 years hospitality experience.
• Must be a person of integrity aligned with Salvation Army mission.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly; able to present to individuals and groups.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating teaching and instruction for culinary students.
• Instruct students in culinary theory, lab exercises, and hands-on kitchen training.
• Assist in tracking and maintaining records of graduating culinary students.
• Supervise kitchen staff and volunteers when the Culinary Instructor/Kitchen Manager is absent.
• Assist with catering duties and emergency disaster responses.
• Prepare meals during shifts and help with food procurement, storage and sanitation.
• Maintain weekly student/volunteer schedules and assist in menu planning using donated foods.
