The CT Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality CT imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and maintaining equipment according to infection control standards. They operate imaging equipment independently, adjusting techniques to optimize diagnostic results while minimizing radiation exposure (ALARA).
Key duties include obtaining clinical histories, verifying orders, explaining procedures using AIDET, and providing age-appropriate patient care. They administer contrast agents, position patients correctly, and review images for diagnostic quality, repeating exams as needed. Accurate documentation in RIS/PACS and timely communication are essential.
The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, and at least 1 year of radiology experience. Necessary certifications include ARRT - R (Radiography), ARRT - CT, and BLS.
The technologist collaborates with a multidisciplinary team, supports department operations, and adheres to regulatory standards.
