Job summary

South County Mental Health Center in Independence, KS seeks a Crisis Support Specialist to work directly with patients in observation and transportation roles. Requires ability to work with individuals with mental/physical impairments and react effectively in diverse human service situations.

Starting wage is $16.39/hour. Part-time PRN shifts with set hours 10:00am-5:00pm or 5:00pm-midnight are available. Supervisor is CDS Supervisor/Coordinator or Director.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a High School Diploma or GED.
• Work independently, and be a productive part of a team.
• Completion of required trainings upon hire.
• Dependable vehicle, valid drivers license, and compliance with agency's Liability Carriers Requirements May Be Required Depending On Job assignment.
• Communicate positively and effectively with others.
• Basic proficiency in math.
• Effective utilization of basic office technology.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients depending on needs of the department.
• Available to work requested hours as needed and attend required training and mandatory meetings.
• Paperwork is completed in a timely fashion and accurately reflects progress toward goals.
• Sound judgment will be used in crisis situations and ongoing assignments.
• Maintain a positive, professional and supportive relationship with patients.
• Maintain a positive and professional relationship with Four County staff and personnel from any other agencies.
• Confidentiality is maintained at all times.
• Must keep other staff informed of unusual situations regarding patients.
• Must follow professional ethics and set appropriate boundaries with patients.
• Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor.
• Able to represent the agency in a positive manner.
• Exhibit and promote decisions / behavior consistent with the Centers Established Vision, Mission, And Values.
• Any deviations to the work schedule and all overtime must be approved in advance.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
