Job summary

Oregon State University (OSU) Creamery is hiring for 10 part-time Student Technical Assistant positions in the Department of Food Science & Technology. Up to 24 hours per week, these roles support retail operations and production activities in the Creamery.

Staff will handle orders, operate the POS, assist with exchanges, and maintain cleanliness and safety standards while developing professional skills. This student role emphasizes teamwork and reliability.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a school program (HS/CC/University).
• Must meet academic standing requirements; students on academic suspension not eligible.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Must communicate effectively in English.
• Criminal history check required due to OSU policies.
• International students may have reduced hours under USCIS rules.

Responsibilities

• Complete retail shop orders: scooping, cones, milkshakes, and other duties.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and workspaces.
• Operate POS, track orders and sales, handle cash, interact with customers.
• Assist with ice cream exchanges with the production plant and paperwork.
