Job summary

Legends on Lake Lorraine is seeking part-time cooks to join its assisted living team. The Cook will prepare cold foods, bakery and salad items, and assist with hot dishes as needed. Shift runs 6am-2pm with every other weekend and holiday; wage starts at $18/hour.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in a commercial kitchen and familiarity with proper portioning, food safety, and dietary accommodations. This role supports a resident-focused dining program in a care setting.

Qualifications

• Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements.
• 1 year of experience in a commercial kitchen preferred.
• Knowledgeable in cooking large quantities and following recipes.
• Food safety knowledge and practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals following menus/recipes and ensure appetizing presentation.
• Inspect diet trays and serve according to portion control and dietary orders.
• Prepare cold items, bakery, and salads; cook hot foods as directed.
• Maintain sanitation and food safety per regulations; keep work areas clean.
• Assist with inventory, food prep for upcoming meals, and special events.
