Job summary

A Part-time Security Guard at the Baltimore Convention Center helps greet visitors, direct attendees to events, and ensure facility security. The role supports Public Safety Officers, manages access, and monitors activity to maintain a safe environment.

Shifts include weekends and holidays; incumbents may work all shifts and indoors/outdoors, with weather exposure. Requires HS Diploma or GED and security experience; license preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: One year of security or Law Enforcement experience.
• Security Guard card certification is preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Greets and directs visitors and guests to events and area attractions.
• Alerts full-time Public Safety Officers, Supervisors, and/or appropriate authorities when needed.
• Monitors and directs vehicle and pedestrian traffic at loading docks and front drive.
• Assists in monitoring closed circuit surveillance system and indoor alarm panel.
• Provides and controls access to the facility.
• Perform duties as assigned by the Public Safety Supervisor.
