Job summary

Baltimore Convention Center is seeking a part-time Security Officer responsible for greeting and directing guests while ensuring facility security. This role involves monitoring and directing traffic, managing access control, and providing support to Public Safety Officials.

Ideal candidates should have a high school diploma, security experience, and excellent communication skills, along with a Maryland driver’s license. The position requires flexibility with shifts, including weekends and holidays, and offers hands-on training for future full-time opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of security or law enforcement experience.
• Security guard card certification is preferred.
• Must possess a Maryland Driver’s License or a valid out of state license.

Responsibilities

• Greet and direct visitors and guests.
• Monitor vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
• Assist in surveillance monitoring and access control.

Skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to understand and follow instructions

Ability to react calmly in emergencies

Knowledge of basic computer skills
