Job summary

McKnight International is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support public-sector parks, recreation, building, and capital improvement projects throughout the greater Houston area. This part-time, on-site role requires coordinating contractors, reviewing plans, and maintaining documentation to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or related field preferred.
Minimum eight (8) years of construction management, construction inspection, project management, engineering, or related infrastructure experience.
Experience supporting public-sector, municipal, infrastructure, building, or capital improvement projects.
Experience reviewing RFIs, submittals, pay applications, and change orders.
Strong knowledge of construction plans, specifications, contract documents, and construction practices.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel between project sites.

Responsibilities

Provide construction management oversight for assigned construction projects.
Monitor construction activities for compliance with plans, specifications, permits, and contract requirements.
Coordinate contractors, consultants, inspectors, and project team members.
Review project progress and identify construction issues or potential risks.
Conduct field observations and document construction progress.
Monitor project schedules and construction milestones.
Assist with contractor pay application reviews.
Review RFIs, submittals, and change order requests.
Maintain project documentation, meeting minutes, reports, and correspondence.
Support quality assurance and quality control activities.
Monitor contractor compliance with project safety requirements.
Attend and facilitate regularly scheduled project meetings.
Prepare project status reports and construction updates.
