Job summary

McKnight International is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to support public infrastructure and capital improvement projects in the Houston area. This part-time, on-site role involves field inspections, documenting progress, and ensuring compliance with plans and standards.

Responsibilities include daily inspection reports, coordination with project teams, and participation in meetings; Parks-related project experience is preferred, with opportunities for growth and hands-on field

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of construction inspection, construction management, field engineering, construction oversight, or related experience.
• Experience inspecting building, park, site development, civil infrastructure, or capital improvement projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Experience preparing field reports and construction documentation.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in field environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to pass all required background clearances.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections to verify compliance with plans, specifications, permits, and contract documents.
• Observe and document construction progress.
• Monitor contractor workmanship, materials, and installation practices.
• Identify deficiencies and non-conforming work.
• Prepare inspection reports and communicate findings to project teams.
• Prepare daily inspection and field observation reports.
• Maintain project records, site documentation, and photographic documentation.
• Track project milestones and construction progress.
• Support project closeout documentation and punch list activities.
