Job summary

Washtenaw Community College is seeking part-time Construction Management instructors to teach CMG courses (CMG 130, 150, 180) in a flexible schedule, on-site or remote as needed. The college emphasizes an inclusive environment and offers tuition waivers and discounts to staff and students.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s or higher in construction-related fields with industry experience and are willing to teach face-to-face, online, or hybrid formats.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or related field along with 5 years of industry experience.
• CMG 130 requires a degree in construction with 5 years experience, or an associate degree with 7 years experience and OSHA Trainer Institute certification.
• For CMG 150/170/225: must possess a current, valid Builders License.
• Willingness to teach face-to-face, virtual, or online according to departmental needs.
• Ability to use AI-enabled tools in teaching while maintaining confidentiality and ethics.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain an environment conducive to student learning.
• Prepare for and instruct assigned course(s) with appropriate learning experiences and materials.
• Adhere to course syllabus and Assessment of Student Academic Achievement.
• Evaluate student progress through exams and day-to-day evaluation.
• Grade assignments and provide timely feedback and final grades.
• Support student success through advising and guidance.
• Participate in curriculum planning, examination development and program evaluation.
• Utilize AI-enabled tools to support teaching and ensure ethical use of technology.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
