Job summary

NewSchool of Architecture & Design is seeking part-time Construction Management instructors to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in a variety of topics, with potential future move to full-time. Courses may be delivered face-to-face, blended, or online, using Canvas LMS and campus facilities.

Qualified candidates hold a Master's in a related field, at least five years in the U.S. construction industry, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, Leadership, or related field.
• Minimum of five years of professional work experience in the U.S. construction industry.
• Higher education teaching experience is preferred.
• Ability to teach in multiple subject areas such as Construction Estimating, Field Supervision, Heavy Civil Construction, etc.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and construction management apps (MS Project, P6, Bluebeam, Procore, Autodesk).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver course content meeting course outcomes.
• Use Canvas LMS to deliver material and collect assignments.
• Assess and document student performance on papers, exams, projects.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback and academic support.
• Foster student success with flexible teaching style and engagement.
• Maintain attendance and grade reporting; enforce policies.
• Communicate with academic leadership about student issues.
• Provide course documentation for accreditation reviews.
• Report student outcomes to improve teaching and learning.
• Model professional behavior inside and outside the classroom.
• Collaborate with departments to support a positive team environment.
