Cabarrus Arena is seeking a part-time Cook to support the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage team for events at the Cabarrus Arena & Events Center in Concord, NC. The role involves hands-on food preparation, following approved recipes, and high sanitation standards.

The position requires flexibility for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with 15–40 hours weekly on event-driven schedules. Prior culinary training and kitchen equipment knowledge are beneficial for this role.

Qualifications

• Must have attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to read recipes and safety procedures.
• Servsafe certification preferred.
• Minimum of one year cooking experience.
• Experience in banquet operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare recipes and assist Chef in events as directed.
• Cook batches for concession and catering services.
• Wash, peel, cut, and portion ingredients as needed.
• Maintain sanitation and safety standards in all areas.
• Monitor temperatures and hold times for food items.
• Inventory and stock the kitchen area; track usage.
• Operate large-volume equipment such as fryers, grills, ovens.
• Adjust for event schedules and irregular hours.
