Job summary

Optum is hiring a Part Time Patient Access Representative Associate to serve as the first point of contact for patients, handling registration, benefits verification, and scheduling while delivering compassionate service in a healthcare setting. The role supports Allina Health in providing access to care and cost information with a focus on accurate data collection and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of customer service experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work standard daytime hours Mon–Fri during training.
• Availability for 2–3 day shifts and/or evening shifts.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Epic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets and welcomes patients in person, directing them to appointments and procedures.
• Collects and verifies demographic, insurance, and benefits information; obtains signatures.
• Checks in and interviews patients to complete required paperwork, including financial assistance applications.
• Obtains and explains cost information to patients; collects co-pays and informs about financial assistance programs.
• Addresses and resolves claim issues or registration errors; documents resolutions in the EMR.
• Provides customer service for inbound/outbound calls and schedules add-on appointments when needed.
