Job summary

Advocate Lutheran General Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Nursing Float Pool. This part-time role (0.6 FTE) offers 24 hours per week with a pay range of $20.80 to $31.20 per hour. Responsibilities include assisting RNs with patient care, documenting in the EMR, and supporting admissions, transfers, and discharges.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills required and strong communication abilities.
• Annual educational requirements for hospital certifications as applicable.
• Excellent organization and priority-setting skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, feeding and mobility.
• Record vital signs and input/output in EMR and document accurately.
• Perform rounds and communicate patient observations to RN promptly.
• Assist with admissions, transfers and discharges under supervision.
• Collect specimens and perform point-of-care testing as directed.
• Run errands and maintain nursing area stock and cleanliness.
• Support patient positioning, dietary needs, and skin care.
• Ensure isolation precautions and PPE as required.
• Adapt care for age-specific needs per department policies.
• Follow infection prevention guidelines and proper disposal procedures.
