Job summary

Voluntary Action Center of Northern Illinois seeks a part-time Vehicle Operator in Sandwich, IL to provide safe, reliable transportation for seniors and individuals with disabilities. This role supports independence and community access, with up to 24 hours per week across Mon–Fri 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate agency vehicles under various road and weather conditions.
• Assist passengers boarding, riding, and exiting vehicles.
• Secure mobility devices and provide passenger assistance as needed.
• Communicate with dispatch regarding routes and passenger movement.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain accurate logs (trips, mileage, fuel, fares, and hours).
• Deliver excellent customer service while representing VAC’s mission and values.
