The City of South Gate is seeking a Part-time, At-Will Police Support role. Under supervision, you will assist in non-sworn law enforcement duties, including handling reports, traffic control, and front desk tasks. The position may require evenings, weekends, and holidays, with up to 960 hours per fiscal year.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and bilingual English/Spanish is highly desirable. The job emphasizes citizen safety and community service within City departments.

Formación

• Graduation from high school is typical.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in non-hazardous police calls and interviews; collect and preserve evidence; document data and prepare crime reports.
• Provide traffic control at incidents; file minor accident reports.
• Patrol parks, enforce regulations, report violations and manage park closures.
• Assist with front desk visitors and crime reporting; support records and fingerprint processes.
• May assist in searching, booking, transporting, or releasing prisoners if assigned as Matron.
