The City of South Gate is seeking a Police Officer to enforce laws, protect life and property, and investigate crimes while emphasizing community-based policing and collaboration with the public.

Under supervision, duties include patrol, traffic control, traffic accident investigations, and reporting. Candidates must have a California POST Basic Certificate, be 21+, and pass the required background and medical checks.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: Graduation from high school or equivalent, or higher degree.
• Applicants must currently be employed by a California Law Enforcement Agency, be off probation and have a Basic POST Certificate.

Responsabilités

• Patrol assigned areas by car, foot, bicycle or motorcycle; conduct crime prevention and suppression activities.
• Make arrests, issue citations, serve subpoenas and warrants; conduct investigations.
• Regulate traffic, investigate accidents, and control crowds as needed.
• Provide community outreach and collaborate with staff, public safety agencies, and organizations.
