COMMUNITY RENEWAL TEAM INC. in Hartford, CT is seeking a part-time Community Protection Coordinator to help protect clients, staff and visitors. Pay is $16.94 hourly; education requirement is High School or GED; FLSA Non-Exempt.

Duties include enforcing rules, directing visitors, responding to emergencies, guarding entrances, patrolling, monitoring alarms, providing escorts, and basic dispatch/record keeping. Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years’ experience as a security guard.
• Alertness, honesty and strong communication are essential.
• Bilingual Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enforces regulations regarding personal behavior, parking and traffic on property.
• Directs and assists visitors.
• Responds to emergency alert calls.
• Guards entrances and exits to prevent trespass, vandalism, theft and other violations.
• Performs routine security patrols and monitors surveillance equipment and alarms.
• Provides security escorts.
• Performs dispatching and record keeping at a desk post.
• May assist in fire prevention and firefighting activities and oversee other officers as designated.
