Job summary

United Way Worldwide is seeking a Part-time Community Impact Coordinator in Cumberland, MD. The role supports PHUW’s operations, donor communications, campaigns and events, and coordinates Imagination Library activities for Allegany County.

The position requires 20 hours/week, with occasional evenings or weekends, and travel within local counties may be required. Office-based role with a focus on literacy and community partnerships.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Experience organizing programs or working with community partners.
• Clear writing, public speaking, organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to engage people from varied backgrounds.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and enrollment/contact databases.

Responsibilities

• Provide office administration and communications support.
• Assist with donor communications and monthly newsletters; maintain donor database.
• Support campaign mailings, events, and on-site event coordination as needed.
• Build relationships with families, schools, and community partners to support literacy programs.
• Coordinate enrollment, book-order administration and reporting for DPIL of Allegany County.
