Job summary

Experience Champaign Urbana in Tolono, IL seeks an Outreach Clerk to support outreach services and programs under the Community Engagement Librarian. You will help develop programs, assist at events, and promote reading and literacy in the community.

The role includes visiting community events, coordinating with partners, guiding customers to library services, and occasionally handling circulation tasks. Evening and weekend availability is required; high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency with MS Office or similar tools.
• Valid Driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out visits to community events, organizations, businesses, and senior centers and conduct programming as requested.
• Develop partnerships with the community under guidance of the Community Engagement Librarian.
• Promote reading and literacy at outreach events for children and underserved populations.
• Assist patrons in accessing library services and using the online catalog and other resources.
• Support setup and logistics for outreach events and materials.
