Job summary

Better Together ND in Fargo, ND is seeking a compassionate Outreach Assistant for a part-time role focused on connecting community members with essential services and trauma-informed support. You will work closely with individuals facing substance use, mental health challenges, or housing instability to help them access resources with dignity.

Qualifications

• 2 years working with vulnerable populations OR Associates Degree.
• Pass a comprehensive criminal background check (DOCR/HHS).
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation for local Fargo-area tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with completing Community Connect applications, Free Through Recovery referrals, and 1915(i) applications.
• Support clients with shopping checkout and general navigation of local community services.
• Help current clients connect with their assigned Care Coordinator and maintain consistent communication.
• Manage and distribute incoming mail and respond to online inquiries from community members in a timely and professional manner.
• Provide compassionate, client-centered assistance to community members facing substance use, mental health or housing instability, ensuring they are treated with dignity.
• Maintain accurate records of outreach efforts and application assistance to ensure compliance with 1915(i) standards.
• Assist to build and maintain relationships with community resources and partners.
