Job summary

Capital Area Food Bank is seeking a Community Engagement Intern to assist in fundraising campaigns, student engagement, and community outreach in the DMV area. The role provides hands-on experience in program implementation, event coordination, and coalition-building with partners addressing hunger and education.

You will collaborate with the Community Engagement Specialist, gain exposure to campaigns like CANstruction, and contribute to events and workshops that raise awareness and funds while

Qualifications

• College degree or professional experience in marketing, fundraising, or events.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns, CANstruction & Hard Hats Against Hunger, and other fundraisers using CAFB's crowdfunding platform.
• Help develop and implement strategies to raise awareness and funds.
• Support the Student Leaders Program in outreach, applications, and program delivery.
• Assist with educational workshops such as Face Hunger and Lunch & Learns.
