Job summary

Description:

The Specialist, Institutional Partnerships supports CAFB’s efforts to build and strengthen relationships with corporate partners across the Greater Washington region. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Partnerships and working closely with the Senior Director of Institutional Partnerships, the Specialist supports new business development, manages a select portfolio of corporate partner accounts, and helps coordinate partnership activity across the Institutional Partnerships team.

The Specialist plays an important role in delivering a positive, well-coordinated experience for CAFB’s corporate partners. Engaging with colleagues across CAFB, the Specialist supports a range of corporate partnership opportunities, including philanthropic contributions, event sponsorships, cause marketing campaigns, workplace giving, corporate volunteerism, and other forms of engagement. As needed, the Specialist may also support broader Institutional Partnerships revenue opportunities, including foundation, government, and other institutional funding.

Essential Functions:

Institutional Partnership Team Coordination:

• Provide operational support for the Institutional Partnerships team, including but not limited to accurate donation tracking, invoice/payment follow-up, tax receipts, Salesforce updates, and related donor services processes.
• Maintain key internal resources and files, including financial documents, leadership bios, and related materials within team SharePoint site.
• Develop and pull reports in Salesforce to support pipeline, revenue, workplace giving, and volunteer engagement tracking.
• Track corporate opportunities through Feeding America and coordinate internal follow-up as needed.
• Manage logistics related to employee giving, food drives, fundraising pages, third-party giving platforms, and other partner activations that deepen corporate engagement.
• Coordinate with Communications team to keep partner information accurate and aligned across internal systems and public-facing materials.
• Monitor relevant corporate philanthropy, CSR, and cause marketing trends and share useful updates with the team.
• Lead select workplace giving and matching gift revenue relationships, along with maintaining accurate third-party platform information, coordinating campaign participation, tracking activity and trends, and working with Donor Services to support accurate gift processing

Corporate New Business Development:

• Triage incoming corporate inquiries, including financial, in‑kind/product, volunteer, and general engagement requests; respond directly or coordinate follow‑up with appropriate staff.
• Conduct research and analysis on prospective partners and prep for specific prospect/partner meetings and outreach; provide insight and recommendations on potential funding opportunities for new partners and growth opportunities
• With guidance from the Director of Corporate Partnerships, conduct outreach and follow‑up for select new business opportunities.
• Support development of external‑facing sales materials, including but not limited to sell sheets, decks, and more.
• Serve as a representative of the food bank at events and opportunities that can grow partnerships and workplace giving, including tabling, welcoming corporate volunteer groups, providing tours and updates on the food bank, and more.

Corporate Partner Management and Stewardship:

• Manage and steward a select portfolio of corporate and workplace giving partners, with responsibility for renewals, engagement, and identifying opportunities to grow the portfolio toward $250,000 in annual revenue over time.
• Assist the Director and Senior Director in the management of key high‑value corporate partners.
• With guidance from the Director of Corporate Partnerships, build and steward relationships with assigned corporate partners through regular communication, impact updates, renewal conversations, and identification of opportunities to deepen engagement.
• Support the development of concepts, proposals, reports, and related partner materials by gathering background information, drafting or proofreading content, and preparing submission materials.
• Coordinate all corporate volunteer engagement and related follow‑up, including reservations, participant information, group communications, post‑shift impact emails, and opportunities for additional engagement.
• Coordinate the execution of corporate partner benefits across the portfolio to support recognition and brand benefits, networking and through leadership, and employee engagement.
• Maintain clear records of partner commitments, benefits, deadlines, and follow‑up, coordinating with colleagues across CAFB to ensure commitments are fulfilled accurately and on time.

• Performs other duties as assigned, including but not limited to participating in events, fundraising fairs, and team activities

Qualifications: Required:

• Bachelor's degree
• 2-5 years of experience in fundraising or a closely related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel
• Experience using donor database systems (such as Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, etc.) and Zoom/Teams (for presentations/webinars) strongly preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple projects and relationships simultaneously
• Works well under pressure with frequent interruptions; ability to prioritize changing workloads to meet tight deadlines
• Experience working with sensitive information and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
• Interest in corporate philanthropy and/or corporate social responsibility

Schedule:

Regular work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Position is currently hybrid with expectation of 3 days in the office per week, but there may be times when events require up to 5 days a week in the office; occasional nights/weekends to support donor events as required by the duties and responsibilities of the position
