Job summary

Wisconsin Community Services, Milwaukee, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to support participants in community-based mental health programs. The role includes medication administration, care coordination with a multidisciplinary team, and participant assessments.

Part-time hours (8am-4pm) with no weekends. Requires RN license, a 2–4 year nursing degree, and 1–2 years psychiatric nursing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Two to four year nursing degree from an accredited Nursing School.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse.
• 1–2 years psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and automobile sufficient for agency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate medication reconciliation post discharge for physicians to renew or update status.
• Conduct Clozaril testing utilizing the Athelas Testing System.
• Conduct STI testing and provide treatments under supervision.
• Maintain medical records in internal and external databases.
• Manage participant appointment scheduling with psychiatrists and APNP.
• Maintain medical facilities and equipment per State and Federal guidelines.
• Order participant lab tests in internal and external databases.
• Provide initial and ongoing health assessments for participants.
• Arrange for or provide follow-up medical care as needed.
• Ensure written orders exist and are updated for prescriptions.
• Administer long-acting injectable medications in the office.
• Educate participants about medications, side effects, precautions, and contraindications.
• Notify case manager and APNP/psychiatrists of psychiatric changes that require intervention.
• Coordinate with other medical professionals as needed.
• Conduct blood pressures, weights, and other basic medical tasks.
