Job summary

The City of Aurora is seeking an Art Instructor to lead visual arts classes for diverse ages and skill levels. You will design engaging lessons, tailor materials, and partner with families to showcase student work in community events.

Collaborating with the Library and Cultural Services, you will foster creativity, manage a vibrant classroom, and promote inclusive, high-quality arts education through ongoing assessment and responsive teaching.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in fine arts or related field.
• Experience teaching drawing, painting, or other visual arts to youth and adults.
• Ability to adapt lessons for diverse ages and learning styles.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with staff to set goals for classes and events.
• Create and deliver lesson plans tailored to student goals and skill levels.
• Prepare course materials and assess progress through observation.
• Engage with students and parents about ongoing arts programs.
