YMCA of Metropolitan Denver is seeking an Art Instructor to plan and lead engaging art programs for children, youth, and adults. The role emphasizes creating a welcoming space where creativity can flourish, building confidence, and fostering connections with participants and families.

You will teach foundational art concepts, ensure safety, adapt for diverse learners, and contribute to a customer-service oriented, values-driven team.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of art techniques, materials, and creative instruction.
• Experience teaching or facilitating art activities preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with participants, families, and coworkers.
• Ability to organize activities, manage groups, and create an engaging learning environment.
• Must be willing to complete YMCA-required training and certifications within established timelines.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and lead engaging art classes, workshops, and activities appropriate for the ages, abilities, interests, and experience levels of participants.
• Teach foundational art concepts, techniques, and safe use of materials while encouraging creativity and individual expression.
• Create an inclusive, welcoming learning environment where participants feel valued and encouraged to participate.
• Adapt activities and instruction to support different learning styles, abilities, and participant needs.
• Maintain program space, supervise participants, and follow safety procedures; keep records and attend staff meetings.
