Job summary

The role focuses on quality instruction, self-initiative and problem solving, with responsibilities including planning, materials prep, record keeping, and collaboration with staff to support arts education programs.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Fine Arts or related field.
• Minimum 1 year teaching drawing, watercolor, painting.
• Experience delivering lesson plans to youth and adults in classroom settings.
• Preferred: 2 years teaching experience across multiple art mediums.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with staff to set goals and objectives for classes, arts education programs and events.
• Creates, plans and delivers lesson plans tailored to diverse ages, abilities and skill levels.
• Prepares course materials that support objectives and student-driven goals; assesses progress through ongoing observation.
• Creatively engages with students and parents to inform them about ongoing programs.
• Maintains accurate student records, including attendance and contact information.
• Advises staff on supplies and materials needed for classes.
• Maintains a clean, organized and safe classroom environment.
• Communicates progress to students, parents and staff regarding progress and needs.
