New Jersey Institute of Technology is seeking a part-time Teacher Assistant/Tutor to support students with mathematics, reading, and writing. You will maintain student records and assist instructors, helping learners reach college readiness.

Qualifications

• Completion of the equivalent coursework of a college sophomore (24 credits) and current enrollment in good academic standing, or graduation from an accredited college or university.
• Education and experience prerequisites may be waived at the university's discretion if an equivalent combination demonstrates readiness for the role.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in integrating mathematics, reading, and writing skills.
• Maintain accurate academic records and program statistics related to student resource utilization and files.
• Help students develop communication, study, time management, and test-taking skills.
• Support students in developing mathematics, science, reading, and language skills for state-mmandated assessments (e.g., PARCC, PSAT, SAT, ACT).
• Attend required staff development and training sessions.
• Create a positive learning environment that encourages engagement and academic success.
• Assist with administration and evaluation of standardized diagnostic and placement assessments.
