Job description

AIM Academy is seeking a highly organized, knowledgeable, and student-centered College Athletic Recruiting Specialist to help student-athletes and families navigate the college athletic recruitment process.

Working closely with the College Counseling Department, coaches, Athletics Department, students, and families, the Coordinator will provide the structure, communication, resources, and consistent follow-through necessary to help student-athletes successfully manage their recruitment journey. The ideal candidate will combine the organizational precision of an administrator, the relationship-building skills of a coach, and the student-centered approach of an educator, reflecting AIM Athletics' commitment to supporting the personal development and achievement of every student-athlete.

AIM seeks instructors who are committed to collegiality and have high expectations for all students. Prior experience working with students with language-based learning differences is preferred. Since AIM Academy is dedicated to the work of equity and diversity, candidates should value engaging in open dialogue, questioning, confronting assumptions, and attuning to all voices. We invite you to read our “Equity and Diversity Statement” located on our website at www.aimpa.org

At AIM Academy, our hiring process reflects our culture, ethics, and core values: Care for Others, Creative Problem Solving, Commitment to Excellence, and a Can-Do Attitude.

Areas of Responsibility:
  • Work with students to assist with recruiting profiles, highlight film, statistics, schedules, questionnaires, and other recruiting materials.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with college coaches, recruiters, and athletic directors.
  • Be a proactive advocate for our students. Be excited about reaching out to a network and leveraging those connections in service of our students’ college goals.
  • Have the patience and understanding of AIM students, their profiles, and processes.
  • Speak regularly with AIM coaches and club/AAU coaches, and help facilitate communication between those coaches and colleges.
  • Ensure that the student-athletes are meeting their recruitment deadlines according to their college counseling timeline. Understand it will take more time and follow-up to walk our students through the process.
  • Support students in identifying appropriate camps, showcases, ID clinics, and other recruiting opportunities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience in college athletics recruiting, collegiate coaching, athletics administration, NCAA compliance, student-athlete services, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the collegiate athletic recruitment process and NCAA recruiting and eligibility requirements; familiarity with NAIA and NJCAA pathways preferred.
  • Exceptional organization, attention to detail, written communication, and follow-through.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with students, families, coaches, counselors, and college representatives.
  • Ability to mentor students toward increasing independence and ownership of their recruitment process.
  • Strong research skills and proficiency with spreadsheets, shared databases, recruiting platforms, Hudl/video tools, and Google/Microsoft productivity tools.
  • Demonstrates initiative and sound judgment
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented professional who recognizes what needs to happen next—and follows through to ensure it happens.

The strongest candidate will bring both expertise and genuine enthusiasm for helping student-athletes find collegiate opportunities that align with their athletic, academic, and personal goals.
