Job summary

Aviation Institute of Maintenance in Duluth, GA seeks a Career Success Coordinator to help students transition from enrollment to graduation and into meaningful employment. You will drive certification completion, career readiness, and placement preparation while engaging students early to build trusted relationships.

This full-time role requires strong communication, organization, and a willingness to travel locally.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1–2 years in student services, career services, advising, workforce development, recruiting, or related support role.
  • 1 year of related experience in a proprietary (for profit), post-secondary educational setting preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; willingness to learn new systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills with a student-centered approach.

Responsibilities

  • Actively manage a student caseload and meet defined performance metrics.
  • Engage students early to build relationships and support certification readiness and placement.
  • Coordinate with employer engagement and career services partners to prepare students for entry into the placement window.
  • Document all student interactions and outcomes; assist with weekly/monthly reporting.
  • Support onboarding and other training related to student success systems and processes.

Location: 2025 Satellite Pointe, Duluth, GA 30096

Schedule: Monday-Thursday 9-6 with a possible late night from 10-7; Friday 8-5

Compensation: The compensation range for this position is $24-26 per hour, with most candidates expected to fall near the midpoint of the range based on experience and qualifications.

About the Role

The Career Success Coordinator helps students successfully transition from enrollment to graduation and into meaningful employment. This position supports students throughout the full student lifecycle by proactively driving certification completion, career readiness, and placement preparation.

As a Career Success Coordinator, you will engage students early to build strong and consistent relationships, supporting them through certification and placement.

Key Responsibilities
Performance & Accountability

Actively manage a student caseload and meet defined performance metrics, which may include:

  • Retention and persistence
  • Certification readiness and attainment
  • Graduation progression
  • Career readiness and placement-related leading indicators
  • Contribute to a performance-driven culture focused on measurable student outcomes
Student Engagement & Advocacy
  • Serve as a consistent point of contact and career readiness advocate for assigned students, building trust, rapport, and accountability
  • Proactively identify and address barriers to certification readiness and job placement
Certification Support
  • Partner with the education team and studentsuccess coordinators to monitor certification readiness and drive certification outcomes
Career Readiness & Placement Preparation
  • Introduce career readiness concepts early in the student journey, including resume development, professional behavior, and labor market awareness
  • Support students and graduates with career planning, job search strategies, and interview preparation
  • Coordinate with employer engagement and career services partners to prepare students for successful entry into the placement window
  • Assist with job applications, documentation, and placement-related follow-up as assigned
Data, Documentation & Compliance
  • Accurately document all student interactions, engagement activities, outcomes, and supporting materials
  • Participate in cohort tracking, G&E chart confirmation, and required audits, including weekly and monthly reporting tied to student success metrics
  • Support, participate in, and/or facilitate workshops, application stations, commencement, alumni events, career fairs, and certification readiness activities
Other Duties
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor, including onboarding and ongoing training related to student success systems, performance metrics, and operational processes
Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
Experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in student services, career services, advising, workforce development, recruiting, or a related support role
  • 1 year of related experience in a proprietary (for profit), post-secondary educational setting preferred
Skills
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills with a student-centered approach
  • Comfortable working in a metrics-driven environment with shared accountability
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and willing to learn new systems
  • A positive, team-oriented approach and willingness to work outside regular business hours and travel locally or overnight as needed
