Job summary

The Neighborhood at Decatur is seeking a Part-Time Resident Care Associate (CNA) to join our assisted living and memory care teams. You will provide hands-on care, support residents and families, and follow each PSP to promote safety and comfort.

This role requires weekend availability and flexible hours, with shifts Mon-Fri and every other weekend. Experience with elders preferred; HS diploma required by state where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School education preferred and may be required by the state.
• Previous experience working with elders or disabled individuals, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age to perform the personal care aspects of the RCA position.
• Knowledge of Assisted Living industry and Dementia care or Skilled Nursing, preferred.
• Ability to work weekends, evenings and flexible hours, available to our customers at peak service delivery days and times.

Responsibilities

• Participates in developing Personalized Service Plans and updates; attends service plan review meetings with families as requested.
• Follows hydration schedule established for residents.
• Completes resident meal attendance sheets and ensures room service for those not dining in the dining room.
• Knows and complies with all resident rights.
• Initiates, assigns, and assists with activities as appropriate.
• Checks assigned residents daily for cleanliness, clothing, continence issues and changes in condition.
• Uses proper sanitary procedures and universal precautions.
• Monitors cleanliness of resident rooms and high-risk areas.
• Assists with laundry rooms and common areas; ensures safety around chemicals.
• Completes all ADLs for residents according to PSP.
• Responds promptly to security systems and resident call bells.
