Job summary

Emerald Nursing & Rehab Brookside in Lincoln, Nebraska is seeking a part-time Cook to help prepare nutritious meals for residents. You will work with the dietary team to follow dietary guidelines and accommodate special diets while keeping a clean, safe kitchen.

This role requires the ability to lift, stand for long periods, and collaborate with a compassionate healthcare team in our skilled nursing facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary certification preferred.
• Healthcare or institutional kitchen experience preferred.
• Ability to lift/move heavy objects and stand long periods.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and dietary needs.
• Follow recipes and portion control for consistency.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitary practices.
• Adjust menus for dietary restrictions and preferences.
• Assist with inventory and stocking of supplies.
• Collaborate with dietary staff to plan menus.
• Keep records of food temperatures and modifications.
• Participate in ongoing training on food safety and trends.
