Job summary

Trinity Health in Davenport's Genesis Occupational Health clinic seeks a Clinic Lab Assistant for part-time coverage. The role performs phlebotomy, specimen processing, and lab support in an outpatient setting, welcoming patients, verifying orders, and documenting results in the EHR while complying with CLIA/COLA/OSHA guidelines.

You will assist with clerical duties, maintain inventory, and support cross-coverage across clinic and lab areas, delivering patient-centered care in line with Trinity

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of medical terminology or phlebotomy training preferred.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire; must be maintained.
• Mandatory Reporter training within 3–6 months of hire; must be maintained.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (Windows, MS Office).
• Ability to read, write and understand English; effective communication.
• Team player with honesty, integrity, and caring aligned to Trinity Health values.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy (venipuncture/capillary) and specimen collection.
• Prepares, labels, and processes specimens with accurate documentation.
• Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots lab equipment; performs quality control.
• Verifies lab orders and updates billing codes; documents in EHR.
• Maintains supply inventory; supports clerical tasks and scheduling.
• Provides patient-centered service by explaining procedures and results clearly.
• Supports cross-coverage across clinic and lab areas; serves as a resource.
