• Lab experience and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems quickly.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipunctures, finger sticks, and heel sticks appropriate to patient age.
• Accepts specimens and requisitions from internal and external customers and manages add-ons.
• Identifies patients and specimens using two identifiers and labels containers correctly.
• Registers and logs specimens in the LIS and ensures documentation is accurate.
• Performs specimen processing and proper documentation per protocols.
• Resolves problematic specimens and tests in collaboration with staff and clients.
• Follows safety and infection control procedures to support quality and timely testing.
• Operates LIS to support data entry and workflow management.
• Contributes to general lab operations by restocking and participating in committees.
