Job summary

Pooley Accounting Services seeks an experienced accountant to manage accounting work for a portfolio of small business and nonprofit clients. You will own client deadlines, produce accurate financial information, investigate issues, and communicate directly with clients with limited supervision.

The role offers a flexible hybrid schedule with onsite and remote work in the St. Louis area, including occasional client visits. Strong QuickBooks Online and payroll skills are essential.

Qualifications

• At least five years of hands-on accounting experience.
• Proficient with QuickBooks Online and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned client accounting work, priorities, and deadlines independently.
• Maintain books in QuickBooks Online and Xero; manage third-party integrations.
• Reconcile accounts; investigate discrepancies; prepare financial statements.
• Process payroll for assigned clients and meet payroll deadlines.
• Document work; communicate issues promptly; collaborate with team.
