Job summary

Right At School is hiring an Educator to lead activities at partner schools in Washington. You’ll create a safe, structured environment, greet students, support homework, and help kids develop social-emotional and academic skills. The role offers part-time, school-day alignment with before/after hours shifts.

Applicants must be 18+, have a high school diploma, and be able to lift 25 lbs. The program emphasizes enrichment, active play, and communication with families.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13.
• Comfortable leading groups of children in activities and games.
• Outstanding customer service and communication with children and adults.
• Reliable and punctual; able to commit to a consistent part-time schedule.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout a shift.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to support additional program locations if needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in students at the start of each session; take attendance and maintain accurate records.
• Plan and lead daily activities, games, and enrichment lessons appropriate for the age group you're working with.
• Facilitate homework time and support with academic tasks as needed.
• Supervise students during free play, snack time, and transitions, ensuring a safe and structured environment.
• Address minor conflicts or behavior issues using positive guidance techniques.
• Communicate with parents/guardians at pick-up and drop-off regarding their child's day.
• Report incidents, injuries, or safety concerns to your Program Manager or site lead promptly; log incident reports.
• Set up and clean up program space and materials each day.
• Attend brief daily team meetings to coordinate with other staff.

Job description

Right At School provides Before & After School, Summer Camp, and Break Camp programs at 1,200+ schools across the country. Our programs deliver hands-on enrichment activities, homework support, active play, social-emotional learning, and more - all guided by a mission to inspire a love of learning, support schools, and give families peace of mind.

As an Educator, you'll work directly with kids - leading activities, facilitating a safe and structured environment, and building relationships - while gaining valuable experience in education and child development.

In short, your influence will shape kids' futures, helping them develop the skills they need to thrive in school, at home, and beyond.

Pay Rate: $18-20 per hour (based on education and experience)

Program Hours:

• Before School: Monday 6:15-10:25am Tuesday-Friday 6:15-9:30am
• After School: Monday-Friday 3-6pm

What You'll Do
