Job summary

Right At School is hiring Educators to work in Before & After School programs at partner schools in Washington. The role involves leading activities, supervising students, and supporting homework tasks in a safe, structured environment.

The position requires reliable, motivated individuals who can commit to the 5-day shift pattern and collaborate with a team to deliver enrichment and social-emotional learning in a school setting.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13.
• Comfortable leading groups of children in activities and games.
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills with children and adults.
• Reliable and punctual; able to commit to a consistent part-time schedule.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in students at the start of each session; take attendance and maintain accurate records.
• Plan and lead daily activities, games, and enrichment lessons appropriate for the age group you’re working with.
• Facilitate homework time and support with academic tasks as needed.
• Supervise students during free play, snack time, and transitions, ensuring a safe and structured environment.
• Address minor conflicts or behavior issues using positive guidance techniques.
• Communicate with parents/guardians at pick-up and drop-off regarding their child's day.
• Report incidents, injuries, or safety concerns to your Program Manager or site lead promptly.
• Set up and clean up program space and materials each day.
• Attend brief daily team meetings to coordinate with other staff.

As an Educator, you'll work directly with kids — leading activities, facilitating a safe and structured environment, and building relationships — while gaining valuable experience in education and child development.

Educator Pay Range:

$19-$21 per hour (based on education and experience)

Monday-Friday Split Shift,

must be available all 5 days for both shifts each day.

• Before School Shift: Monday 6:15am-10:30am, Tuesday- Friday 6:15am-9:30am
• After School Shift: 3pm-6pm

Actual schedule will be based off needs of the programs

What You'll Do

What We’re Looking For

• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 (preferred)
• Comfortable leading groups of children in activities and games
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills with both children and adults
• Reliable and punctual; able to commit to a consistent part-time schedule
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout a shift
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to support additional program locations if needed

Washington State Requirements

• First Aid and hands-on CPR
• Cleared tuberculosis (TB) test
• Food Handlers Card
• Proof of MMR
• 18+ years of age
• Proof of High School diploma/GED required
• Background Check with fingerprinting
