Job summary

Right At School, a national program provider, is seeking an Educator to work on-site at partner schools. You’ll greet students, take attendance, plan daily activities, and support homework in a safe, structured environment.

You’ll supervise play, communicate with families, and help transitions between activities. This part-time role offers flexible hours and a chance to gain hands-on experience in education and child development while making a real difference in your community.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13.
• Ability to lead groups and supervise activities.
• Excellent customer service and communication with children and adults.
• Reliable and punctual; able to commit to a consistent part-time schedule.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand, walk, bend, and kneel during shifts.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to support additional program locations if needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in students at the start of each session; take attendance and maintain accurate records.
• Plan and lead daily activities, games, and enrichment lessons for the age group.
• Facilitate homework time and support with academic tasks as needed.
• Supervise students during free play, snack time, and transitions; ensure safety.
• Address minor conflicts or behavior issues using positive guidance techniques.
• Communicate with parents/guardians at pick-up and drop-off regarding their child's day.
• Log incidents and safety concerns; report to Program Manager.

As an Educator, you'll work directly with kids - leading activities, facilitating a safe and structured environment, and building relationships - while gaining valuable experience in education and child development.

Pay Rate: $18-20 per hour (based on education and experience)

Program Hours:

• Before School: 6:15-9:10am Mon-Fri
• After School: 3:15pm-6pm (Wed 2:15-6pm)

What You'll Do

• Facilitate homework time and support with academic tasks as needed
• Supervise students during free play, snack time, and transitions, ensuring a safe and structured environment
• Address minor conflicts or behavior issues using positive guidance techniques
• Communicate with parents/guardians at pick-up and drop-off regarding their child's day
• Report incidents, injuries, or safety concerns to your Program Manager or site lead promptly; log incident reports
• Set up and clean up program space and materials each day
• Attend brief daily team meetings to coordinate with other staff

What We're Looking For

• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 (preferred)
• Comfortable leading groups of children in activities and games

Washington State Requirements

• First Aid and hands‑on CPR
• Cleared tuberculosis (TB) test
• Food Handlers Card
• Proof of MMR
• 18+ years of age
• Proof of High School diploma/GED required
• Background Check with fingerprinting
