Job summary

Ann Arbor YMCA is seeking a part‑time Child Watch Team Member to help create a caring, safe environment for children and to assist in planning and implementing engaging activities in the Child Watch program. You will communicate effectively with staff, children, and parents, and help ensure smooth daily operations with a focus on developmentally appropriate learning.

Responsibilities include supervising children, supporting classroom routines, and building positive relationships with families

Qualifications

• Must have 1+ year(s) of experience with preschool or elementary children.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred and must be obtained when offered.
• Ability to communicate, listen, and work well in a team environment.
• Commitment to YMCA values and respectful, caring interactions.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive supervision for children aged 4 months to 11 years at all times.
• Assist in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities.
• Foster positive relationships with children and their families.
• Greet children and parents warmly and support smooth transitions daily.
• Model positive interactions and uphold the YMCA values of respect, honesty, responsibility, and caring.
• Respond to medical emergencies and complete incident reports as needed.
• Support in monthly family program events and participate in team activities.
